Men and women alike get emotional when they watch certain types of movies and shows. Movies have a way of affecting the way we feel. They can stimulate unpleasant thoughts of the past or inspire us with hope for the future.

When you are watching a love story unfolding in a cottage beside a peaceful lake, the scenery combines with the story plot tend to remind us of the first time we fell in love. Scenes like this tend to make us reflect on the first boyfriend or girlfriend you ever had and on the value we once place on small things in a relationship.

Crime moves can you back into a journey of reliving an unpleasant experience. If you have ever been burglarized or robbed, then you understand the emotional impact watching a similar crime story or plot can have on you. Sometimes scenes like this can rekindle emotional anger or deep rage.

Have you ever watched a movie where a particular type of crime took place? It could be a plot of drama wherein a group of adolescent teenagers or young adults are steeling cars, or burglarizing homes. If you have ever had a car stolen in real life, a movie such as this will cause the same emotional anger to resurface.

Scary films are in a class of their own. They often remind us of a time when we were once scared of the dark or of the thought of creepy noises echoing in the night as the wood and furniture settled. When I was younger, I hated leaving closet doors in my bedroom partially opened. Similar movie scenes often remind me of those times.

There is nothing better than watching a good comedy movie. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine. A good funny movie has the tendency briefly change the things we focus on. When you are watching a comedy, you tend to forgot about all the serious things going on in your life.

What kind of movies do you like to watch? The type of movies you watch says a great deal about you. People are attracted to certain genres of movies based on a set of particular sociological and psychological characteristics they have acquired as a child. These characteristics are what shaped us and is what causes us to define what we like and dislike in life.

Movies will always have a place in the American way of life. They will continue to make us laugh and sometimes cause us to shed a tear or two. Either way, movies have the power to make us reflect on what is considered important and to muse over what has been less significant as we watch one movie at a time. - 29956
