The Coral Princess Cruise Ship Explores The Panama Canal And Alaska

By Matthew Shaulis

The Coral Princess cruise ship was designed specifically to fit through the Panama Canal, but it's advantages do not stop there. The narrow design of the Coral Princess cruise ship makes it a joy for cruising the Inside Passage of Alaska.

Although the Coral Princess cruise ship is narrower than most of the Princess Cruiseline, she is just as long, thus providing ample room for other amenities aboard this ship. The Coral Princess cruise ship has less inside cabins, thus utilizing more of the space inside the ship for the Princess amenities we all love. Almost 85 percent of the rooms on the Coral Princess cruise ship are outside rooms and over 80 percent of these provide balconies. This is the perfect combination when it comes to taking an Alaskan cruise or a Panama Canal cruise because you will certainly not want to miss a moment of scenery just because you are in your room.

Unfortunately the teen and youth center is a bit smaller on this ship than the Grand Class ships, making it a bit more suitable for an older crowd. Most children over 10 will enjoy the scenery and this will not be a problem, but there will be less children on this ship than the larger Princess cruise ships. So you may think about another Princess cruise ship if it is a family vacation you are planning and you want your kids to be around hundreds of other children. The Coral Princess carries 1970 passengers versus the normal 2600 on larger ships, so this gives the Coral Princess cruise ship somewhat more of an intimate feel for its passengers. If you are looking for a romantic getaway this might just be the perfect ship for you, and the captain will gladly marry you at sea.

The Coral Princess cruise ship offers the standard fare of excellent food and service that the Princess cruise line is known for. Princess's "Personal Choices" flexible dining program, whereby passengers can opt either for traditional two-seating dining, or dine when and with whom they please, is nowhere better implemented than on this ship. The Bayou Cafe and Sabatini's are both operating on this ship as well as many other Princess cruise ships and there food is close to unbeatable. The Horizon Court offers standard cafeteria dining for breakfast and lunch, but can get a bit swanky at night.

The Coral Princess cruise ship spends the winter months taking passengers through the Panama Canal and the summer finds the ship in the Gulf of Alaska. Breathtaking Alaskan cruises can be a bit chilly, even though they are in the heat of the summer, so this is an excellent choice for cooling down in the summer. Winter cruises to the Panama Canal will awe you as you enter the Locks and there are several exciting ports of call in the Western Caribbean also. Whichever cruise you choose, the Coral Princess cruise ship is sure to please and leave an everlasting memory upon your heart. - 29956
